This AccelerateHER program is specifically for women-owned businesses in the Greater Houston area. The Center for Women Entrepreneurs will provide early-stage entrepreneurs with the resources and education to accelerate their companies into scalable and successful businesses.
Six Houston -area woman-owned businesses will be selected for an intensive program that is facilitated by TWU Center for Women Entrepreneurs.
This program will provide the participants with the following:
- 24/7 access to a dedicated workspace at Sesh Coworking, located at 2808 Caroline St, Houston, TX 77004
- Direct access to a business advisor and mentors during and after the program.
- Intensive entrepreneurial training from industry experts on vital business resources and processes.
- Access to business plan software to complete a comprehensive business plan.
- Introductions to Houston connections to expand their network.
Important Calendar Dates:
- Application opens: Sept 4, 2024
- Applications close: Oct. 8, 2024
- Applicants notified by: Oct. 15, 2024
- Program starts: Oct. 22, 2024. In-person, Tuesday evenings 6-8pm
- Anticipated end date: Feb 25, 2025
- Weekly virtual pop-in meetings: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays
Documentation of 51% or more women-owned, must be submitted with the application.
What will need to be uploaded to the application:
- Include legal entity documentation showing the business is 51% + woman-owned and controlled. At least one of these documents must be submitted showing all owners.
- Sole proprietor/assumed name/dba filing
- LLC or LLP, Corporation documentation showing all managers
- Certification of organization, articles of incorporation, partnership agreement showing members and percentage owned along with entity formation.
- Any Woman-owned Certification
Ineligible documentation that will disqualify your application:
- Entity documentation with business name only
- EIN
- Sales & Use Tax Permit
- IRS tax forms
- Driver’s license
- Credit card
- Passport
- Social Security Card
- Minority-owned business certification unless it specifically says woman-owned
